When my cats were younger, I could keep them engaged at playtime with just about any wand or fishing pole style toy.
However, as my kittens grew into cats, they became increasingly discerning about their (make believe) prey and I struggled to hold their attention for long. That’s when I discovered Da Purr-Peller by GoCat.
Da Purr-Peller is a premium wand toy made for interactive play. My cats simply cannot get enough of them. As far as replicating the movement and appearance of a real bird, these are probably as good as it gets.
My only gripe is that they are not bult to last. My cats can destroy one, at least to the point that they lose interest, in just a few (very rough) play sessions. Fortunately, we were able to find a suitable alternative that will not break the bank…

4. Peomliee Turbo Scratcher – BEST FOR KITTENS
As far as the best solo cat toys go, the turbo scratcher is tough to beat. We have two. One is actually a leftover from my first cat, who’s no longer with us – these things simply last forever. That’s because the cardboard center piece is reversable.
After your cats have had their way with it and it’s no longer recognizable, simply flip it over and voila – it’s like new again. They also sell replacement inserts, though I’ve yet to need one (it’s been over a decade)!

These Cat Crinkle Balls from Cancor were perhaps the most polarizing amongst all the toys we tested. That’s because one of my cats (Fawn) ignores them, while the other (Arya) is borderline obsessed.
Arya loves to play fetch, and she will only play with these very specific toys. I know, she’s a weird cat; what can I say?
Crinkle balls are a great choice for kittens, or any cat that is typically into batting small toy mice, or crinkled up balls of paper. They are made of a unique material that is both soft and “crunchy” at the same time.
As a result, they are safer to leave out unattended than most other toys.

Although it’s not the most realistic toy, it’s unique motion is captivating. I like to break it out once in a while as a sort of change-up, just to keep things interesting. Both cats go nuts every time.

In fact, the only reason my cats even know that laser pointers exist is because my (former) cat sitter dug one out from the bottom of the toy closet when I was away and used it before I had a chance to interject.
